Hi,

I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar

Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)

The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Files, folders, and storage

I have to say I've given this an install and I cannot thank you enough, this has saved me having to revert from windows 11, the other stuff I dislike I can somewhat put up with but the file explorer issues were really screwing with me; again thank you so much.

Actually you can get back to windows 10, it's what I'm doing tomorrow, it will however wipe all data off your PC so make sure you back it up, if you go on the Microsoft website there should be a direct download for Windows 10 (I can't figure out anyway to revert without losing all data) it's my only option as in all honesty windows 11 has been entirely unbearable and has so many issues that I just can't work around and unnecessarily slows down my ability to work in a lot of regards, and the UI now is in my opinion really not good and lacks valuable customisation that I very much used a lot in windows 10. Removing features is just all around bad.

Edit... I didn't read ahead in the conversation where this got pretty much resolved... whoopsies, well my opinions out there I guess and hopefully it helps Microsoft do something to change this (It never will big companies are generally awful with feedback)

Well, I did a comparison of the OS on both machines, and there are differences. The biggest one I can find is Windows Home versus WIndows Enterprise. But it seems silly that such a feature would be limited in such a way. See the attached image.

    1. WIndows Version
    2. WIndows Edition
    3. Experience Pack

    A. Windows Enterprise allows drag and drop.

    B. Windows Home does NOT allow drag and drop.

To me it should be a no-brainer to enable drag and drop on all editions/versions of Windows 11 if it previously existed on all editions/versions of Windows 10. Am I wrong?

I have two Windows 11 computers, and the drag and drop to the breadcrumb bar works on one and not on the other. I have no idea what the difference is except one was "upgraded" to Windows 11 a while ago, and the other one was done recently. I don't know if the older W11 machine ever had trouble with the drag and drop, but it works now.

The one where drag and drop to the address bar still works either never got upgraded to the new explorer or is running a patch or mod that enables the older Explorer. It could be the older Windows 11 Explorer or the Windows 10 Explorer (that's accessible on all Windows 11 computers via the Control Panel). Please post a screenshot so we can see what you've got there.

And run WinVer and post the Windows build version.
