High virtual memory usage after reinstall

My system is Ideapad Gaming 3 16IAH7 with 16 GB RAM.

After a clean reinstall, my virtual memory usage has been higher by at least 10-20% despite not only having the same amount of processes but even a little fewer. The reason for my clean reinstall was due to the poor and inconsistent performance, something which seems to be no longer the case. I wish to know if the reason for higher virtual memory usage is the cost of performance being better now.

    Alright, I assume due to possible instability with newer updates? Also does taking the latter mean that the most recent updates I have would not be installed?

    This process will not remove any updates you have installed previously.

    Using the other option, that will install all updates and also drivers, and that can cause your system to become unstable, that is why I advised you not to select that option.
