First of all - STOP "PROTECTING" US.

I do not want to have to enter a pin every single time I use my computer.

So please tell me how I remove this option COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY!

And for gods sake - treat people like adult and STOP trying to "hide" these options.

Its my computer, not yours!

Type netplwiz in the search on the taskbar and press enter, select your user, if the "user must enter a username and password to use this computer" box is NOT checked, please check it , click Apply. Then uncheck the box and click Apply. This will bring up a pop up window.

On this pop up window, this is where most mistakes happen. Very important, erase the username that's prefilled. Username should be your entire email address for your Microsoft account. Password is your Microsoft account's password. Any typo here can prevent it from working. Then click OK. And back to the netplwiz page, click OK.

When I try to turn off Window Hello, I'm asked for my password. I type in my password which I also use at sign in and I receive the response that either my username or password is incorrect. The password works to sign in. Please help.

Unfortunately, this worked only TOO WELL because it also made the computer invisible to the rest of the network. The problem is that I can find no way to reverse the process. At stage 2 the previously visible "user must enter a username and..." box has disappeared, and all the other options have "greyed out". The Advanced tab still works but I can find nothing relevant on there.

Any help to reverse this operation would be appreciated.

I then found on page 2 of these comments by A User:

"If "user must enter a username and password to use this computer" doesn't exist in Netplwiz, then, we have to do something in Powershell(Admin) to get it back...

    Copy this:

    reg ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device" /v DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    Open PowerShell(Admin)

Rightclick in the Powershell, and click on insert, and hit Enter. Restart the computer, and it should work... Tested on another computer, I have.

and this DOES revers the process except the computer still cannot be found by other computers on the network

Thank you so much! Why on earth is it so hard to have something that is actually user friendly? Finally I don't have to enter a pin!
