First of all - STOP "PROTECTING" US.

I do not want to have to enter a pin every single time I use my computer.

So please tell me how I remove this option COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY!

And for gods sake - treat people like adult and STOP trying to "hide" these options.

Its my computer, not yours!

I followed these instructions very carefully, with the result that I was locked out of my account and unable to log in at all. I finished up with 2 sign in options, neither of which would let me back in. I had to take my pc to a tech store and they had to fiddle around with things the average user cannot even find. I would definitely NOT recommend this option. If you must remove a PIN have a trained technician do it for you. This is a dangerous thing to attempt unless you know how to get into hidden options. Not happy.

    Hello, this is Emily.

It is possible to do so, but please make sure you follow these steps very closely in order for it to work:

    1. First, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign in options, scroll down to mid page, under "Additional Settings",Make sure "For improved security, only allow Windows Hello Sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (Recommended). " is turned OFF.
    2. Launch netplwiz, select your user, if the "user must enter a username and password to use this computer" box is NOT checked, please check it , click Apply. Then uncheck the box and click Apply. This will bring up a pop up window.
    3. On this pop up window, this is where most mistakes happen. Very important, erase the username that's prefilled. Username should be your entire email address for your Microsoft account. Password is your Microsoft account's password. Any typo here can prevent it from working. Then click OK. And back to the netplwiz page, click OK.
    4. Restart the computer now and it should work.

    How do you launch netplwiz
