Disappearance of Windows 11 Taskbar Icons after Switching Virtual Desktops

In Windows 11's built-in virtual desktop feature, there is a high probability that icons of active applications on the current desktop may not be displayed when switching between different virtual desktops. The icons only appear when I click on the respective application. I have attempted to resolve the issue through restarts and using Sfc and Dism for repairs, but the problem persists. An essential configuration to note is that the taskbar is set to display windows only from the current desktop.

    They maybe do something, but make it worse.

    In May 29, 2024—KB5037853, they updated taskbar and made it temporarily glitching, not responding, disappearing, and reappearing automatically.

    Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for mee, the taskbar is still glitching

    This has been a nagging issue for me since my company upgraded my machine to a Windows 11 system. I hope by posting here that we can continue to make this a visible problem for Microsoft the same way it's a visible problem for us. I am lucky my company allows me to install third party applications - I will try ExplorerPatcher to see if that can serve as a stop-gap.

    As an aside, ExplorerPatcher seems to introduce a little risk to the system, as users report elsewhere that future/upcoming Windows Updates can break ExplorerPatcher until EP can release a patch. I am going to create a System Restore Point as well as a secondary system backup in case anything goes wrong with the installation or uninstallation of ExplorerPatcher. It's quite frankly disappointing that I'm having to dedicate this much time and research to fixing (read: working around) Microsoft bugs that have been reported since (at least) 8 months ago.

    yes, I agree with you, and this kind of non-problem is what leads me to switch to MacOS
