Disappearance of Windows 11 Taskbar Icons after Switching Virtual Desktops

In Windows 11's built-in virtual desktop feature, there is a high probability that icons of active applications on the current desktop may not be displayed when switching between different virtual desktops. The icons only appear when I click on the respective application. I have attempted to resolve the issue through restarts and using Sfc and Dism for repairs, but the problem persists. An essential configuration to note is that the taskbar is set to display windows only from the current desktop.

    I have the same issue on a HP notebook.

    All the updates mentioned in this issue and all the other updates windows asked me to install (including the optional ones) are installed in my PC

    It seems after a reboot the issue is minimal, it becomes evident after some minutes or a PC suspension

    Hey,

    I'm starting to wonder if this issue is limited to Dell users. I have seen people just mention Dell machines till now. I too have a Dell Vostro 5620 and facing the same issue on Windows 11. Glad to find others in the same boat as me. It's really frustrating that Dell/Microsoft is failing on a simple yet crucial functionality like this. And apparently the issue is since October/November 2023 and hasn't yet been resolved on priority.

    problem is solved on my side thanks to latest KB5034204 I've installed today

    The problem still occurs for me, even after this update.
