How to fix Windows 11 saying i'm not connected to the internet but apps and browsers connect and work?

Windows 11 update is not working saying "We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the Internet." (I checked and the windows update service is running), I tried the windows troubleshooter for network and internet and it says "Looks like you aren't connected to the internet." but all apps and browsers connect to internet fine. Today I tried a repair install of the new 23H2 update from the ISO and no luck with that, the troubleshooter and windows update still say no connection to internet. What now?

still no fix, waiting on a fix for almost a year now with this issue, its becoming more and more unusable as more apps become unusable due to this, thank you microsoft. i have tried literally everything and researched this issue for so long and i cannot install new updates due to it so i have to repeatedly manually install them online and hope it fixes (it never does).

Not sure if it will help, but I had a similar issue throughout 2024 and ran through all of the usual solutions posted online. Eventually came across this thread:

I now do this every Windows 11 update since it breaks the internet connection for windows apps each time:

Click start, type Run and click on the run box

    Paste this in: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ResetIEtoDefaults

Click the Reset button and reboot.

I have been facing the same issues for about five months now. Guidance on the internet helps temporarily but, it keeps going back to the same issue. This all started after I completed the windows 11 update.

Microsoft, have you found a solution as yet? This is very frustrating!
