How do I disable Copilot and all Other AI functionality in Windows 11 PRO

I do not want AI on my computer unless I install it myself willingly. It's not up to any of those tech companies to decide whether I want that or not. I'm not buying any phone, tablet, or computer software that FORCES AI on me. I will go to alternatives even if it hurts. I spend too much time on my PC anyways. It would be good to get away from it all anyways.

And also please don't blame Microsoft for being late, please blame them for not going hard enough. They focused on slapping big cameras on a phone that had TERRIBLE software. They flopped because their software on mobile devices was garbage. If they had something like MIUI/IOS on their phones, they would have been an insane threat in the game. Their phones left a lot to be desired. They do that a lot with their stuff. Xbox is the same thing, the Xbox UI is garbage, they don't get as many sales on Xbox and people are going PC gaming more and more because Xbox UI is terrible, they killed off the Xbox Companion App on PC and replaced it with Xbox App which doesn't have 1/4 of the features the Companion App had. Oh and let's not forget that Microsoft also does stupid things to ALIENATE their customers. You're telling me I'm paying 60 dollars per year and you're gonna ban me if I swear? EXCUSE TF OUT OF ME? Yeah..... So please do not attribute the companies major L's as a timing thing. They just didn't go hard enough. Windows, same thing. We still have Windows 3.1 stuff in Windows 11.... Why???? If Microsoft WANTED to give you a good experience, they would, but they don't. They failed because of them and not because of timing.

OK, well I liked the phone and would jump back in a heart beat.

This stuff has been going on for the 40 odd years I have been covering it, MS have at least 1.4 billion users, they are doing something right - although from the outside it doesn't always seem so.

The point I tried to make earlier is, if you want to use Win11 suck it up. Sure we can all fiddle at the edges and switch stuff off when we can (shout out to Les Firch for his WinSetView - swirches off 'Group By' in explorer), but we work to MS's pleasure not them to us.

I've always tried to expend the energy I would use complaining looking for the solutions to my problems - certainly going to MS doesn't help.

But that's just me - but I do know that shouting the odds about it makes no difference - lets face it these were the people who went with the talking paper clip (oh and someone at the usablity labs told me it handn't been fully tested there - which chimes with some other app based decisions I heard about).

How about no? I don't want this running on enterprise equipment in my environment. There are countless security risks to Copilot (any AI) and many that are still unknown. There are already plenty of examples to dictate the fact that for now, Copilot remains a security risk.

Generative AI is a misnomer and marketing gimmick.

When we are talking about these things we are talking about LLMs or Large Language Models. They primarily function by using large data sets to output a specific result in relation to those data sets. There are already problems with legal cases and coursework and other industries or individuals adopting these processes and having accuracy issues or even false results. Just over the last few years multiple legal cases were put under scrutiny because of the briefs that cited laws and cases that were fiction. Thats just one example of their unreliability.

I mentioned before the data sets. This can be images, words, books, numbers, music, movies, audio clips and more. Most companies that are responsible are paying to the rights for the data sets they are using to train their LLMs, a fair number are not though. They are literally scraping information and data without permission to use in their programs.

Given all that, its entirely valid to not want to use an LLM. Additionally, its incredibly dismissive and unhelpful to say its just the future in regards the the question/topic.
