How do I disable Copilot and all Other AI functionality in Windows 11 PRO

It's worse, so it's going the way of the Zune, the Windows phone, and Clippy.

Microsoft needs to deliver clean, concise interface that helps people get their work done. Not more ads in the start menu and telemetry data collection points.

If it's worse I'm not going to waste my time with it.

I do wonder how many dollars and man-hours are wasted uninstalling and disabling things Microsoft pushes

I came here because my work computer keep shoving Copilot in my face and want to turn it off.

I use Ubuntu at home and it has pretty good software support, though their app store installs things using Snaps, which sometimes has weird permissions issues.

To install things I usually use apt.

sudo apt install firefox

sudo apt install signal

sudo apt install libreoffice

Debian is an even cleaner OS though it assumes you are already familiar with Linux.

I hear very good things about Linux Mint and PopOS and intend to give those a spin next time I'm setting up a machine.

All in all they are all very good and are designed to keep you in control of your computer. No running weird ads or creepy analytics.

With all due respect to you, I have no time for conspiracy theories. I apologize if that sounds harsh.

Adoption of generative AI is only going to grow and, despite concerns that people have, it has proven itself enormously popular and amazingly productive. The next update to Windows 11 (currently testing) will add capabilities to Copilot.

Eventually, Copilot will put Microsoft Community out of business, since you'll be able to ask your questions directly to Copilot and get better results than I or anyone else here could provide.

All this can only be possible if Copilot is deeply integrated into Windows. That way, applications that depend on Copilot can 'plug in' to already existing technology that provides a consistent and up-to-date platform for developers. Or would you prefer that copy and paste was not part of Windows, and instead developers had to add their own versions of copy and paste to their applications?

This last part will sound really harsh, and again I apologize, however, technology has no patience for the minority who are resistant to change. They are simply left behind, and you don't want to be left behind artificial intelligence. It will be everywhere in your daily life, so you are not doing yourself any favors by trying to avoid it.

I feel like by now I've worn out my welcome, so I'll end here.

We need to be able to install Windows "OS", or "Programs", separately and choose the functions and features that we want. BUNDLING everything together to force upon us they massive data collection junk is Tyrannical. Mark it down. Tyrannical. Someone needs to step up and change things or simply make a massive move towards Linux. Anyone suggest a better one than Ubuntu for the average user?

Can we really disable it? How do we know? Will the next update re-enable it, or worse, prevent CoPilot from being disabled? While I understand Microsoft wanting to be part of the AI movement, I think that users should have the option to opt-out or remove. While we, the end users, use this OS to conduct business, Microsoft has turned this OS into a data collection application. If I am paying for a Pro or Enterprise license, then I should have the option to say 'no' and remove it.

Let me add, that I do not think that everyone is spying on me, but the IRS and the government are very clear about how data is to be handled, but this "feature" brings us out of compliance and we can't remediate it to bring us back into compliance.
