Hi

I write this in english, to enlarge the potential community.

Windows Update, I get error 0x80070002 when the systems tries to install Windows 11 Version 22H2.

This problem is going on for a long time now.

I tried everything I can found on the internet.

  • setting the time, all good,
  • Deleting the SoftwareDistribution directory,
  • Running scan, and DSIM, all good no errors,
  • Windows update troubleshooter, tells me:

Check for Windows Update issues Detected:

In troubleshooting report it says:

  • check for widows update issues // Resolve Windows Update issue Completed

however the installation never gets done. Interesting it says Windows Version 10, but msinfo says Microsoft Windows 11 Home

Glad it's resolved, albeit it took around 10 attempts :)

You may re-enable the startup items and services. Backup the current set of drivers using DISM, to a folder named c:\drivers_final_2023.

If Device Manager doesn't show any items with the yellow exclamation mark, then no need to install any more drivers.

For the Windows Security issue, please start a new thread and share the link to the new thread here. Will reply to that.

    Hi,

    Please do the following:

    • Download the Windows 11 23H2 ISO,
    • Right-click on the downloaded ISO and click Mount.
    • From the mounted drive letter, run setup.exe.
    • In the initial screen, click “Change how Setup downloads updates”, and click "Not right now"

    Follow the on-screen instructions and finish the upgrade. See → How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Community.

    Your files, apps, and settings will be preserved (by default) during the repair installation.

    Caveat: If you see the following screen (with grayed-out options), cancel the setup. This can happen if you use an incorrect ISO.

    Thanks for the quick reply, I started directly trying this out

    No resolution yet

    Downloaded the ISO 23H2 from your recommendation, OK
    Verified Hashtag SHA256, all good, OK
    Mounted, OK
    50 GB available on C: , OK
    start "setup" as administrator, OK
    do not load drivers right now, OK

    ... Checking your PC

    Accepting applicable notices and license terms ...

    ... Making sure you are ready for installing now

    This takes 1-2 minutes and the screen closes without any notification

    Is there somewhere a log file, to identify what the issue is during installation?

    Please share the following setup logs on OneDrive/Dropbox and post the link here:

    • Open the "C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources" folder.
    • Select the two folders, "Panther" and "Rollback" (if present).
    • Copy the two folders to the desktop and Zip them.
    • Upload the zip file to OneDrive/Dropbox/WeTransfer.

    I hope this worked:

    Did go to OneDrive Website, with my account, created dropbox and wetransfer folder

    Copied the zipfile into wetransfer

    There was no rollback, only Panther folder

    Tried to share, with link: https://1drv.ms/f/s!At3helIxGZsEknlHW5PQcVhJDUtO?e=LfEXO1 I guess this should do it, I renamed the Zipfile Panther_Robo4112.zip
