Hi

I write this in english, to enlarge the potential community.

Windows Update, I get error 0x80070002 when the systems tries to install Windows 11 Version 22H2.

This problem is going on for a long time now.

I tried everything I can found on the internet.

  • setting the time, all good,
  • Deleting the SoftwareDistribution directory,
  • Running scan, and DSIM, all good no errors,
  • Windows update troubleshooter, tells me:

Check for Windows Update issues Detected:

In troubleshooting report it says:

  • check for widows update issues // Resolve Windows Update issue Completed

Glad it's resolved, albeit it took around 10 attempts :)

You may re-enable the startup items and services. Backup the current set of drivers using DISM, to a folder named c:\drivers_final_2023.

If Device Manager doesn't show any items with the yellow exclamation mark, then no need to install any more drivers.

For the Windows Security issue, please start a new thread and share the link to the new thread here. Will reply to that.

Regards,

I could only find one WLAN driver at Lenovo support, that one did not do the job.

I installed the Intel one, the link you provided.

The setup started, and crashed again, usually at 80%, it starts restarting and undoing changes.

Here is the latest Panther and Rollback (BTW, which files are you checking when analyzing this?)

To me it looks in the setuperr log that the piecomponent driver file is missing?

    piecomponent.inf_amd64_646d24c9b7c85542\piecomponent.inf

//I could take the c:\drivers.old directory the one I found or, I could take all the driver from the Lenovo support site?.//

Installing from c:\drivers.old can be disastrous. We don't know if that folder has the complete set of drivers and when the backup was created. What if it contains defective driver packages?

See if you can install the PROSet/Wireless Software driver from Lenovo.

    The Intel version is below.

    Download Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Wi-Fi Drivers: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000046918/wireless.html

    Please check the models listed.

Yes you are right, each time we get a step closer.

    Just thinking about this situation:

    • Each time a new topic pops up, mainly driver related. So It looks like there are missing driver files, no clue how that could have happened.
    • What do you think, should I just install again all drivers?
I could take the c:\drivers.old directory the one I found or, I could take all the driver from the Lenovo support site?.

I also remember a note or message some time ago, where the system said, there are 3 drivers, which I should be carefull. It mentioned somehting that if I would install them from Lenovo it could not work, I should use the OEM driver from the supplier, (or the other way arround, not sure I cannot find that note anymore). What is the command, to check if drivers are up to date?

What I cannot afford, that reinstallation of drivers would stop my machine from booting up. I still need the machine and although not updated yet, at least I can still use it.

By the way, the iclsclient.inf error is gone. The driver migrated fine.
