Hi

I write this in english, to enlarge the potential community.

Windows Update, I get error 0x80070002 when the systems tries to install Windows 11 Version 22H2.

This problem is going on for a long time now.

I tried everything I can found on the internet.

  • setting the time, all good,
  • Deleting the SoftwareDistribution directory,
  • Running scan, and DSIM, all good no errors,
  • Windows update troubleshooter, tells me:

In troubleshooting report it says:

Glad it's resolved, albeit it took around 10 attempts :)

You may re-enable the startup items and services. Backup the current set of drivers using DISM, to a folder named c:\drivers_final_2023.

If Device Manager doesn't show any items with the yellow exclamation mark, then no need to install any more drivers.

For the Windows Security issue, please start a new thread and share the link to the new thread here. Will reply to that.

Regards,

    //I pnputil the oem62 and the oem41 drivers/

If you ran the pnputil command again, that may have removed some other driver. Everytime a driver is installed, the OEM# numbers change. #41 and #62 don't always refer to the Intel graphics and DPTF driver. So, you've inadvertently uninstalled two unrelated drivers.

//however you wrote the graphics driver was the problem//

Yes, it is. That's what the log says. A file in that driver package is missing. Hence the package had to be deleted. If you find the Intel Graphics Control Panel driver for your model, you can install it. You have the backups at C:\Backups, but installing IGCP driver from the backup will again cause the setup to fail.

    I removed the $WINDOWS.~BT dir

I pnputil the oem62 and the oem41 drivers

I downloaded the DPTF driver and the Graphic Driver and installed both.

Running setup does not get further then Making thing ready to install. The Installation does not start.

So after installing the DPTF Driver at least we got far, however you wrote the graphics driver was the problem, now it does not start.

There is only one Graphic driver on the Lenovo Support site, there are 9 Chip related driver, see the screen here. The yellow one we already installed.

If I would install all of these, shouldn't we first uninstall the corresponding OEM driver similar to what we did before with 62 and 41?

What else did we change or was changed, when we installed the DPTF Driver?

Yes, please install all available drivers from the Lenovo site, especially the chipset drivers and the graphics driver.

    Hi Ramesh

    Not good,

I did so, and now it stops again during the "getting things ready to install", so during setup

The installation does not start again, as we had before.....

Do I need again to install an updated Graphics driver from Lenovo, similar to what we had before with the DPTF`?

Or any other thoughts? The pnp uninstall, did not do the job, it stopped getting into installation again.
