  • Download defender_diag.bat. Right-click on the file, click Properties, Unblock, and OK. Run the batch file as administrator.

Those entries have no significance. Those entries show up in my system as well. You'll see a lot of Not Found entries for any operation you do. Usually, most of those entries have no significance.

You may try this if possible.

Download this REG file and save it to a folder named c:\reg\

Launch AdvancedRun (from Nirsoft) and start cmd.exe as TrustedInstaller.

In the TrustedInstaller Command Prompt, run:

  • reg.exe import c:\reg\securityhealth.reg
  • exit

This restores some essential registry keys used by Defender.

    Hi Ramesh,

    Just a quick question the boot log showed there were a lot of keys not found in the registry with “security “ in the keys description.

    Would recreating these keys be worth trying.

    Forgive my ignorance on the matter if this proves to be a daft question..

    Also when using the Robo command the contents of folder was updated not the whole security folder replaced. Is replacing the whole folder worth a try?

    The same model Vaio (my Daughters) that runs Security ok is operating the GUI (SecHealthUI.exe) from this loaction

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.SecHealthUI_1000.25873.9001.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.

    Whereas the laptop with issue seems to have the files here C:\Windows\System32\SecurityHealth. Any thoughts on whats going on here ? I was tying to replicate the set up when I came across this.

    The 1st location "WindowsApps" contains the Windows Security UWP app files. The "SecurityHealth" folder contains the platform files. The two folders exist in every system.

    The problem is that the service doesn't start even though all the necessary files are in place. The app version is secondary. First, the service has to start. The registry settings were fine when I inspected the log.

    I don't think that will help because the robocopy command we used does the replacing part automatically. The platform files are intact as far as I know.
