Hi Frank,

If you wish to fix Windows Security, please start a new thread and post the following logs. Post the link to the new thread here.

Step 1:

Step 2:

  • Download defender_diag.bat. Right-click on the file, click Properties, Unblock, and OK. Run the batch file as administrator.

(The Batch file queries Defender-related settings/Policies and outputs the results to a log file named defender.log. Upload this log to your OneDrive and share the link here.)

Those entries have no significance. Those entries show up in my system as well. You'll see a lot of Not Found entries for any operation you do. Usually, most of those entries have no significance.

You may try this if possible.

Download this REG file and save it to a folder named c:\reg\

Launch AdvancedRun (from Nirsoft) and start cmd.exe as TrustedInstaller.

In the TrustedInstaller Command Prompt, run:

  • reg.exe import c:\reg\securityhealth.reg
  • exit

This restores some essential registry keys used by Defender.

Hi Yes a TPM work around was deployed. However my daughter has the exact same laptop and everything on that works fine having used the Microsfot Reg edit to load Windows 11 on that.

I really must thank you for all your help

I looked at my daughters Vaio and the folder there is more recent 1.0.2306.10002-0 so I copied that to my C: drive

I used the robocopy command to copy and load this into SecurityHealth but how do I make sure these newer files are used instead of 1.0.2303.28002-0

    see pic

The Platform version doesn't matter. Even the old platform (released in mid-2023) should load correctly, but it's not happening. It's something else.

If the Security Health Service still doesn't start, it could be due to legacy hardware.

Happy Christmas and thank you for all your help and patience here.

I considered right at the very start the hardware issue and would not have wasted time yours especially or mine on this had it not been for the fact that my daughter's Vaio with the exact same specification works fine. Her Security Centre highlights the absence of a TPM chip,

As Norton 360 is installed and works I will just accept that Windows Security Centre cannot be used. Of course the extra level of encryption that Windows 11 gives on devices with TPM was never going to function or that afforded to Device Drivers.

Quite why Microsoft does not allow people to easily install Windows 11 on such devices is baffling. Although they did publish the registry hack for this themselves sometime ago. This is why 70% still use Windows 10 or lower.

In conclusion I really appreciate your time and effort on this and trust you do not think I have been ungrateful, or more importantly that I have knowingly wasted your time..
