Why Does Windows 10/11 Copy and Paste Stop Working After A While?

For the last few months my Copy/Paste will stop working after I've been logged-on for awhile. If I log off and back on (no Restart, though), it will start working again... for awhile, that is. It was happening on Windows 10, so I went ahead and upgraded to Windows 11, hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't.
I've looked through other postings, but most of them involve a Restart, which certainly works but so does a simple log off/log on. I generally don't log out at the end of the day, just lock it. Does anyone have a solution other than creating a whole new profile?

Just one thing that might be helpful if it IS a memory leak... I started experiencing it on Windows 10, then upgrading to Windows 11, hoping that it would fix the problem. It didn't. So, whatever it is, it didn't change between OS versions.

2024-04-05T18:22:53+00:00 Mine started happening on Windows 10 and would be resolved only by logging-out and then back in. I upgraded to Windows 11, hoping it would resolve it, but it didn't. All results the same.

My computer is one where it was bought with Windows 10 Home loaded on it and I upgraded to Windows 11 Home when it became available. I wonder how many people experiencing this issue are on upgraded computers as opposed to ones factory configured with Windows 11. My laptop which is still on Windows 10 (can't support Windows 11) has never shown the issue.
... just a thought.

2024-04-05T15:00:32+00:00 FWIW, running those applications as administrator isn't having any effect to fix the problem. As soon as you restart the computer, it reverts back to the previous run permissions.
What is actually fixing the problem, is that you are rebooting.
