Windows Spotlight suddenly decided to use Thai language instead of my system setting (US English). How to fix this?

I doubt it has anything to do with system settings. It's a goof in the meta-data for the pictures that Spotlight generates.

That second picture is now active for me, this time without any metadata.

We'll just have to wait for Microsoft to fix the sillyness.

@ginsekai - jan 13 - My Windows 11 laptop does exactly the same as yours. Same pictures, the second one appearing after "not liking" the first with the same, Finnish, language appearing on the screen. My pc is in southern Europe and set to English. This does not appear to be random but a result, perhaps of a set of parameters, but not a random issue thrown out by windows spotlight.

This started happening to me at around New Year. Picture taken in France, captions first in Swedish and then in Japanese. Laptop in UK, with English my primary language and French and Dutch as secondary languages.

I switched off spotlight by going to 'Settings', then 'Personalisation', then 'Personalise Lock Screen' and switched Windows Spotlight to Picture.

This solved the issue as Spotlight was no longer providing the image on my lock screen.

None of these fixes work!

I've changed all the region settings, and even deleted any other language on the system... but Windows Spotlight (that starting picture screen before log in screen where it shows random pictures from around the world) is always in a different language.

This has only started occuring relatively recently, and its very annoying!

If MS can't fix the issue, please tell us how to disable Windows Spotlight entirely. It's very disconcerting that other languages are being displayed on my log in screen.

Give me a register edit to disable Windows Spotlight entirely.
