How to fix Search bar not working after Windows 11 23H2 update

Good news! Check for Windows Update! You should find Windows 11, version 23H2 (repaired version). Installing that will fix the search problem.

I have alienware r11 and cloned a 2 TB hard drive to a 4 TB hard drive and noticed the same problem after installing the cloned drive. I fixed the problem by using this web site and doing the step highlighted in yellow. How to reinstall Windows 11 using Windows Update (thewindowsclub.com) . "Reinstall your current version of Windows(your app, files and settings will be preserved). Windows Update showed that is was downloading "23H2(repaired)". It took a long time to download and when I was prompted to reset my PC , it reset several times with % complete changing with each reset. When it finally finished and I logged in, everything worked including the Start and Search functions, my Mixed Reality Portal, which was also not working with my VR HP Reverb headset. I lost no apps nor did I have to reinstall any programs.

I tried a couple of what seemed like the easier suggestions but they didn't work.

I tried this figuring it wasn't going to work, but it seemed a lot easier than the other suggestions. It actually worked!

I can't imagine how you (or someone else) figured that one out. It seems like such a random suggestion. Caveat......I haven't rebooted to see what happens.

I have the same issue with the Search Bar not working after update to Windows 11 23H2.

I have tried all the fixes and none of them have worked.

The thing I noticed is that there is no Windows Search running in the Task Manager Processes.

The only way the Search Bar will work is in Safe mode.

Any more new ideas ? This surely is a common issue the Windows 11 23H2 update as there are tons of user's with the same issue.

I'm still having same issue. Running win11.

If I search for picture(s) that I loaded from my camera such as "DSC0xxxxx" Explorer starts seaching then crashes every time. Please help.
