Is there a workaround for KB5034441 install failure that doesn't require partition modification?

We know about the failure of KB5034441, and the recent recommendations to modify a partition as a workaround. As an old school practitioner (since 3.1 came on floppies), and having crashed many a hard disk, modifying a partition seems rather extreme for an update workaround, unsafe, and IMHO highly NOT recommended. My questions are:

Is there another workaround or fix to KB5034441 not installing?
How important is this update seeing how update Tuesday is in just a few days?

UPDATE: Tuesday 2/27/2024
The issue was resolved by enabling the TPM is BIOS to allow the operating system to access the TPM. Nothing was done to modify partitions from the default install size. Currently I have a 50MB NTFS System partition, a 465GB Primary partition, and a 546MB Recovery partition.
Looking in the Update history, KB5034441 installed correctly. Kudos to 1proggy, below, for coming up with the answer for my system.

    My recovery partition was ~530MB and I tried the "Instructions on manually resizing the recovery partition." I think it's silly to suggest average users would need to follow those steps and hope they didn't mess something up. I was able to follow the steps but it reached a point where it simply said it couldn't shrink such partitions and I noticed other people were going deeper creating new partitions, assigning drive letters, copying contents etc. Just too much excess for me. Users can simply wait for a "fix" but I decided to see what I could do with other tools.

    I opened "Computer Management" and then selected "Disk Management" and I shrunk the System drive by 250MB. Of course "Disk Management" won't allow you to extend the "Recovery" partition so I opened "Partition Wizard" which is a free utility (basic version). I opened it and then selected the "Recovery" partition and chose to "extend" it to the "250MB unallocated space", then click "Apply" and the changes were made near instantly. I then restarted my computer.

    I then tried to install the "update KB5034441" again and whilst waiting I decided to open Task Manager, "Open Resource Meter" and noticed that "Dismhost...." was running and then "UpdateWinRE...." appeared and the update successfully installed. So increasing the size of the recovery partition worked fine for me.

    So, we know that TPM is the issue, especially for older machines that didn't come with TPM enabled straight out of the box. Windows 11 requires TPM to be enabled. I guess my question is, for those of us who support systems remotely, is Microsoft going to create a fix or update that can enable the TPM without having to manually go in and make bios changes? Many of my remote clients will not be able to make these changes independently, even with step-by-step instructions over the phone; nor would I want to trust them to get into the bios without my physical observation. And, of course, you can edit bios settings remotely. So... what's next?

    As others have pointed out you can hide the update. A fix will eventually come out. This affects Windows 10 machines that never had TPM to begin with so it's not something those folks have the option to enable.

    You may have just solved it 1proggy. The laptop is a Dell E5530 (2013). There is a TPM but in BIOS it is deactivated. Sadly in the interim since I started this post thread, the hard drive developed a thermal issue. An EVO 870 is on it's way and I'll update this thread if the issue gets fixed by enabling the TPM.

    Yes, check the BIOS! In the last two months I have successfully installed KB5034441 in older Dell E6430, E6430S, and E6440 laptops with sixth generation Intel 806xx CPUs, with TPM 1.2 activated in the BIOS running Win 10 PRO after resizing the Recovery Partitions to just under 900MByte. [Why Recovery Partition 900MByte soft limit-first try? A few users, around 1% in the release channel have reported difficulties with their Dell laptops running Win 10 PRO correctly identifying 900Mbyte and larger Recovery Partitions. To date I have not had any problem resizing to larger sizes if needed.] Recalling that the difference between these Dell E64xx laptops plus your Dell E5530 laptop--many sold with a sixth generation Intel 806xx (80638) processor like the i5-3210M processor--, and my old Dell Inspiron 530 Q9650 quad 3.0 GHz desktop is that the Inspiron 530 motherboard was created with no TPM module/chip so it has no BIOS TPM option.

    I beleive that's some of the problem but I also beleive that if the recovery partition doesn't have enough space it will not install mine was at 512mb increased it to 1024 and had no more problems
