HELP please,

Acer SFG16-71 cannot complete 2024-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034765) "Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry-undoing changes. Please keep your computer on"

Laptop fails at 89& to update

DO NOT have Male Ware Bytes installed

Have tried updating manually locally, downloaded the .msu

Hae tried isolating laptop form network, turned off Norton 360, install locally with .msu,

Have 800GB on SSD Drive available space,

Just won't do it.

    I agree that it was the $WinREAgent file & it causes the problem in a CPU updated from Win10 to 11. I have no issue with my PC born Win11.

    renamed $WinREAgent file. Downloads work now. Not sure why microsoft does not use this. Oh, so many rabbit holes I have been down.

    @MaggieHeller and @Danny Leedy,

    Fold, you do not need to download anything.

    Just follow the simple instruction as per the thread referenced in the following link.

    For an easy way to resolve this problem go see this article. It worked for me...

    WIN 11 KB5034765 install problem

    In a nutshell, just simply rename the hidden folder C:$WinREAgent to something else, like C:$WinREAgent.renamedToCorrectUpdateProblem ...or to what ever you like.

    Just unhide and rename that folder. Keep it around just in case future MS updates need it again...but I would dough that will happen.

    Think this folder was made by updates to your WIN10 OS installation. When upgrading to WIN11, the folder stays hidden and present on your C drive and cause the update error in WIN11!!!

    It is bizarre that the MICROSOFT people do not make this check in their WIN11 update processes...go figure why not!!!

    PS...I AM NOT A MICROSOFT EMPLOYEE. I GO DOWN MS PROBLEM RABBIT HOLES JUST LIKE MOST PEOPLE
