I have been using this Windows desktop fine since this past December (2023). And starting last week, the mouse I had started lagging. So I tried a different mouse and that also started lagging on the computer. I have tried the following: Driver updates Windows 11 reinstall (with data save) Uninstalling mouse driver Updating Windows None of those worked. Any ideas would very much help! For me, it was Microsoft's Control flow guard (CFG) !!!! I've been fighting with this for over a year, and I've finally figured it out. It may be something else for you, but this solved it for me. My WIRELESS mouse is so responsive now that I need to relearn how to use it. I'd become accustomed to the lag. I hope this helps someone else! Give it a try. Go to Settings > Search "Exploit Protection" Disable Control flow guard (CFG) for affected apps or processes.

I bought a Mac now a few weeks ago. Works like a charm. I even dont miss Windows at the moment. I just use it for gaming but i am looking in changing the system maybe to linux or something. Have to check which games work good on other systems. I unsubscribed this thread now cause there is no solution. Good luck to you all

I've been tormented by this problem for a long time, and even thought about switching to a Mac. In between, I tried many things, such as: replacing the mouse (both wired and wireless), replacing the USB port, changing the settings for power saving, and releasing static electricity frequently. And many times consulting the manufacturer's service of the laptop. But no solution. Sometimes a week there is not a mouse problem, but will be in a day will suddenly continuous problem. Until once the manufacturer of the laptop service (Lenovo) gave me a link to reinstall the drivers provided by the manufacturer. It's been almost 3 weeks since then, and I haven't had any more problems with the mouse. I feel that this time the problem is really solved.

Oh i’m sorry. That could indeed be software related. I believe the can be caused by windows wanting to send the mouse data thru hdmi to a eGPU and back which causes lag. I had this where my keyboard completely stopped working at all whenever using my HDMI. But I don’t know if that’s related to your issue.

Why has Microsoft not fixed this yet? So many people have this issue. It's not a hardware issue, too many people have it. Fix it!

Yes, I have it. For me, If I plug my mouse in to the USB, that is not use wireless, I'm fine.
