Microsoft Sudoku not saving my daily challenge results

This game is about as trustworthy as a politician

To me it seems that progress is lost whenever a commercial starts. Whenever this occurs progress for the day is lost and back to where I started.

I notice that Sudoku now plays these (horrrible ) 35 seconds commercials, whereas normally they would take 5 seconds.

So clearly something has changed since these longer commercials run. This has been happening (at least to in my case) since 8 to 10 days.

Far from scientific, but this morning I really wanted to finish the month so I kept the suggestion about ads in mind. What I found was that if the first ad was 30 seconds, progress would not save. If I got a 5-15 second ad, it would save progress. But I'd exit after a couple of games so that another ad didn't appear, assuming that would mess things up again. Unfortunately, the bulk of the ads were 30 seconds (Go away Roger That), so I had to open/close the game upwards of 15-20 times at a shot to get a short ad.
