I have had this issue many times during the last couple of years. Mostly the saving of results has worked and while frustrating when it didn't work I always replayed the unsaved games and they get saved. Until a couple of weeks ago the game results just would not save. I tried all the tricks I have used in the past with no luck. So I paid $9.99 for a two year subscription. Immediately the game results began saving after I played a game and the saving has worked since without a hitch. Two weeks is probably not enough time to be completely sure but I suspect paying a little money solved the problem.

In retrospect I'm not sure why I cared if the game results were save or not. Like others I got frustrated when the game results were not saved and dutifully replayed many games over and over. But I play these games to maintain mental acuity (at least that's what I think I'm doing) and that gets accomplished whether the results are save or not. I made my subscription not to reoccur an go on with my life.

I've always resisted paying for the games I can play online for free - and, like you, I play these daily games for mental acuity. Without having paid any extra, the issue appears to have either resolved itself, of has been resolved by the IT team behind the Zendesk/MS Casual Games technical teams.
