Microsoft Sudoku not saving my daily challenge results

I have tried all the suggestions, and sadly, nothing worked. It appeared to start working at the beginning of the month (March) and was fine until the 13th, then the wheels fell off again. It saved again on the 21, but after that nothing. Microsoft should really do something about this, it has now been ongoing for more than two months (I have fired people for less!)

It turns out there is a workaround. Restart the computer and immediately open Sudoku and play unfinished days... Once you close the app it will have saved your status, however if you play any additional Sudoku games afterward those will not be saved until you restart the computer again and then play. I have managed to get all caught up doing this but it is a terrible solution and speaks clearly that there is a bug in the game.

Far from scientific, but this morning I really wanted to finish the month so I kept the suggestion about ads in mind. What I found was that if the first ad was 30 seconds, progress would not save. If I got a 5-15 second ad, it would save progress. But I'd exit after a couple of games so that another ad didn't appear, assuming that would mess things up again. Unfortunately, the bulk of the ads were 30 seconds (Go away Roger That), so I had to open/close the game upwards of 15-20 times at a shot to get a short ad.
