The 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) will not install on my Windows 10 laptop computer.

my pc somehow just finally installed it after hitting get lastest updates as soon as they're available which honestly kinda makes no sense but hey it did the trick for me.

I have a 1.15 GB of Memory in Recovery Partition and still it's stuck,microsoft says they need 250 MB free in Recovery Partition to install the update.

WinRE is the Windows Recovery Environment. The update fails if there's insufficient free space in the WinRE partition.

Sadly, what Microsoft is not sharing is that an OEM partner like Dell, HP, ASUS, and/or others. May have something to do with adjusting the WinRE space.

Basically my observation is that the hardware vendors are not fixing this issue hoping that we will upgrade our laptops or workstations. :)

I have seen several suggested work-arounds for adjusting the WinRE size. They do not seem to work due to the "OEM" possible conflicts.

Has good instructions. They did not work on my laptop.

I may be wrong, however, this time the blame seems to be on the hardware, and not with Microsoft.

Looking to get a new laptop in the coming months.
