The 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) will not install on my Windows 10 laptop computer.

I did the reset back to factory settings. Not because I thought it might fix the update problem. ( It Didn't ) But because after reading that post? I decided since I'd already been waiting since the update failed back in Jan? I was tired of waiting to see if it was fixed. And since that seemed tp prove it wasn't going to be? I finally did my yearly set back. And no, it hasn't fixed the update problem. So we are stuck without it. Or as I also read? There are plans for an extended "end of life" updates" being worked on, for a price. Of course. One for businesses and education departments 1st. Followed by one for all the rest of us. Me, depending on the price? Will do that. Since I have no intention on a computer beyond Windows 10. I'm not a gamer or into AI stuff either. And that appears to be where Windows is headed after Windows 11. Some things will be added to 11, but 12 is fully headed in that direction. So either I am finally going to have to switch to Apple or Linux? Or my time online will come to an end. And since I am not having as much enjoyment being online as I once used to have? I'll just ride 10 until nothing functions anymore. I only got 10, because 7 was starting to become useless in many ways already & my nephew hated 8 & 8.1. (he's always the guinee pig where it comes to next editions. ) I've been skipping every other one. On his advice so. :) I think he actually plans on skipping 11 this time so. If he likes 12 and it isn't out of my price range? Who knows.

Sounds like a plan tntroy61... I'll sit too & wait for the oracle to speak on the next move... As you say "time on the internet is not much fun anymore", but I rely on my access for financial reasons, so I will try to persevere to the final ending, whatever that will be... With all the talk about creating a cashless society, access to banking may have to be by 'puter only so I hope they come up with something better... :)

I had a call from a local here in WA & he told me, "He did the re-install suggestion 2 months ago" & he hasn't had any recurrence of the problem since, so just to cover my backside I'm going to do it anyway, just to say I tried, after that it's in the "lap of the 'puter Gods"... If it fails, I'll go and see my local witch & get her to put a curse on MICROSOFT... :)

Nope already did that ran into the same issue strange this update didn't affect Windows 11 users.

I had a feeling it was too easy otherwise everyone would have been praising the simplicity of the solution, and let's face it, everyone knows that MICROSOFT did this on purpose to force we W10 users on to their useless MICROSOFT W11...

What a gutless method to use on their "welded on" loyal customers to get a useless follow-on like W11 to some sort of "saleable conclusion"... The hunt goes on!!!
