How to disable Windows 11 automatic reboots?

Hi,

I have browsed this forum but found so far no real solution:

It has happened to my now several times that I was running tasks over extended periods of time only to come back to my PC the next morning to find Windows 11 had done an automatic reboot! So not only the tasks weren't finished, worse, lots of preparatory work was lost!

I don't want Windows to ever automatically reboot after an update. Never. Ever. Period. I want to be informed about updates, that's fine, and I keep Windows 11 up to date, but under no circumstances ever is it acceptable that Windows just shovels an update on my PC and disrupts overnight tasks and REBOOTS(!) my PC all by itself.

So it would be very helpful if somebody could tell me how to disable these automatic update reboots once and for all. I don't want to "pause" Updates (I absolutely want updates, I just want to control myself when the updates are done) and resetting "work hours" is of no use unless I can set it to 24 hours.

    I add the key and going to disable the batch disablereboot.bat.

    The batch was working with some glitches, but, no more reboots,

    Will try this solution and comment the results,

    wow I made a real mistake buying windows for video editing. Their reboots are going to put me out of business. My software is in the middle of a render and I check on it and its some ridiculous log on because it rebooted when I DID NOT tell it to. My do microsoft engineers and managers hate me?

    This solution really works. Everybody can follow the instructions. I notice today. windows have a restart required e did not reboot for itself. I need to press restart to do id. thanks a lot for the solution.

    After several updates, and no AUTO RESTART WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, the solution really works,

    Step 1: Ge the Run dialog by pressing Win + R, type regedit, and click OK to launch Registry Editor.

    Step 2: Click Yes to grant admin access in the pop-up window.

    Step 3: Go to the path – Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows.

    Step 4: Right-click on the Windows folder and choose New > Key. Name it as Windows Update.

    Step 5: Right-click on Windows Update and select New > Key. Name the new key as AU.

    Step 6: Click on the newly created key, right-click on the empty space and choose New > DWORD (32-bit Value). Name it as NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUser.

    Step 7: Double-click on the new item, set Base to Hexadecimal, set Value data to 1, and click OK to save the modification.

    this reg key really solve the problem. Do not need to wait for microsoft solve the problem.
