2025-01-31T21:47:53+00:00 I completely agree, no consumer-level instructions for removal of Copilot were ever given! Are you (Microsoft) kidding me -- you want us to go to the registry and mess with that??? (Most conumers have never heard of "the registry.")
The Copilot icon was not in my tray, but foolishly I clicked on a pop up that encouraged me to "just try Copilot." I clicked on it once to see a format doc, and it took over. I cannot even use Word anymore with out dealing with Copilot. And this is AFTER I followed all the instructions to remove it via Settings/ installed apps,/ uninstall/ restart my computer. Now it doesn't show up in the apps list, but it is somehow still embedded in Word.

2025-02-02T02:28:01+00:00 Like everyone here I never wanted Co-Pilot, but since Microsoft deliberately made it impossible, or at least safe to remove, how can I stop it from popping up every time I start to type an email reply and start typing text in Word 365?

2025-02-03T17:43:33+00:00 Hello Utkarsh. I have followed your instructions but the stupid Copilot icon still shows up when I type anything in either word, excel or powerpoint.
I re-started the laptop after entering the new command.

2025-02-03T19:27:24+00:00 I agree. I didn't ask for it, never use it, and quite frankly - don't really understand all phases of it.
