How do I delete copilot from my pc? I don't want it. I never asked for it. I hate it.

I hate everything about MS!!! I hate copilot, Onedrive, etc. Onedrive has taken control of all my docs and pics and deleted them from my PC!!!! I have deleted it from everything and need to take the time to restore all to my PCs. From what I've seen in onedrive, however, is that they've changed pictures or destroyed them!!!! I'll never use anything in a cloud format again! I believe, thankfully, that I have most of what is in onedrive on a portable hard drive. I'm going to stop using Internet Explorer, another MS product that I hate!!!!

One would think with all of Microsoft's chatter about how much they care about the end user, they'd make it easier for the end user to opt out of controversial products they don't want. Say with a clearly labeled toggle switch? But no, we all know the real reason AI is being forced on us is that using it to gather and act on data about end users and their behaviors, preferences, habits, needs, etc is literally a multi-trillion dollar cash cow. Like the opioid crisis created by the medical industrial complex because profits are more important than people, we the people are sacrificed yet again on the altar of corporate greed.

Maybe they could at least come down from the ivory tower and participate in the "not Microsoft directly" discussions about how incredibly frustrated the end user is with their garbage policies and total lack of regard for customer needs.

I have these same concerns of CoPilot still running in the background,****using up my much need system resources.

I disabled Copilot through the Settings app in Windows 11. When I look at Task Manager, I don't see Copilot using any of my system resources. I've done this many times, all with the same result. Copilot isn't even listed as a Startup service.

They did state the following:

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced. On the right-side pane, right-click on an empty space and select ‘New > DWORD (32-bit) Value’. Name it ‘ShowCopilotButton’ and set its value data to 0. Then, click ‘OK’. This will hide the Copilot button from the taskbar and disable its functionality."

It would be an interesting experiment to see if this actually does effectively disable CoPilot all together.

I have yet to implement this But I do have plans to try it on a lesser used PC in my house (just in case)... lol
