None of these replies deal with the fact that we are having our subcriptions "upgraded" without being notified. This underhand treatment of customers is disgraceful. Everyone has been switched to this new intermediate plan without being asked, to accomodate the cost of Co-Pilot. So even if you turn it off or uninstall it, Microsoft don't care because you're still paying for it and you're paying more.

I don't want to have to go into the register to delete it. I want my subscription to reflect the products I use and, more importantly, the ones I agreed upon when I signed up. I don't agree to Co-Pilot and I don't want to pay for it.

I hate this new function. PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it. Why can we not simply hit a button to be free of this annoying, unwanted, unnecessary, STUPID thing. PLEASE, give us a simple way to just say no. I am tired of having to turn the function off every time I open an email. I am an English major. I know how to read and how to write. MAKE IT STOP!!!!

I hate everything about MS!!! I hate copilot, Onedrive, etc. Onedrive has taken control of all my docs and pics and deleted them from my PC!!!! I have deleted it from everything and need to take the time to restore all to my PCs. From what I've seen in onedrive, however, is that they've changed pictures or destroyed them!!!! I'll never use anything in a cloud format again! I believe, thankfully, that I have most of what is in onedrive on a portable hard drive. I'm going to stop using Internet Explorer, another MS product that I hate!!!!

Copilot may have a piece of its startup code in the kernel of the OS which will make it impossible to remove by the average user. The kernal is the layer between the hardware and the OS and is sometimes called the "core" which is written in assembly language and compiled to be executed by the computer hardware . I believe that Microsoft has made it possible for a user to prevent it from being invoked by individual applications. I was able to disable Copilot from startup from MS Word in Microsoft 365 which is provided in an earlier post. I have not found nor discovered any way of removing the copilot software.
