How do I delete copilot from my pc? I don't want it. I never asked for it. I hate it.

What I did to remove copilot and what you may want to try if it does show up this time:

Go into Word

Click on File at top of page

Click on options

Go to copilot (fourth choice down in the word options column)

Remove all check marks from the boxes of choices

Click okay

This may not work for you, but it did for me. From what I understand though, is that the system may still follow you or have access to what is done (and charge you for the service).

I really want to get rid of CoPilot and was so pleased to see your advice, but fell at the very first fence. You suggest I right click on the CoPilot icon in the task bar. I don't have a CoPilot icon in the task bar that I can see anywhere, , I just have this irritating little icon and a sentence plonked at the start of every fresh Word document. Where can I find this icon to turn it off? Sorry to be stupid but I'm still confused.

Here's how to turn it off for good and pay what you originally expected you'd be paying before Microsoft tried to swindle us all for the pleasure of using their AI:

In an Office product go to File - Account - Manage, then Manage Account.

Sign in to your Microsoft account and in the Subscriptions Tab - Manage Subscriptions navigate to the bottom option "Cancel Subscription."

This will take you to an option where you can choose the original plan you subscribed to, Microsoft 365 Personal Classic, before Microsoft tried to swindle you out an extra £25 by upgrading you without your premission.

Agree. Microsoft see their customers as merely cash cows to be exploited. What cynical ploy will they think of next?

We should be granted the option to use it (copilot), I agree. Been thinking about making a switch to Apple also because of this. Very frustrating. Thanks.
