I'm having the same errors on trying to install the update - I'm ALSO experiencing BSOD - Is anyone else having this as well. I'm just not sure where the BSOD is related, or I have another problem somewhere on my computer.

Read the IMPORTANT section in the KB to resolve the issue:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8

    IMPORTANT

This update requires 250 MB of free space in the recovery partition to install successfully. If the recovery partition does not have sufficient free space, this update will fail. In this case, you will receive the following error message:

    0x80070643 - ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE

To avoid this error or recover from this failure, please follow the Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update and then try installing this update.

Or, to use a sample script to increase the size of the WinRE recovery partition, see Extend the Windows RE Partition.

Apparently ms doesn't want to answer this question or fix the disturbing notification about a failed update. Instead, consumers are informed possibility of the future charge if they want to continue using windows 10 after the end of official support.Well ,"Moses is Moses but business is business"...

To resolve this error, uninstall the older update installed in October 2023 and reinstall it again through this month's push of the KB5001716 update.

To uninstall the KB5001716 update, go into Settings > Apps, and under Apps & features, scroll down until you see the update, click on it, and then click on Uninstall.

Now, it will install just fine
