windows update error (0x80070643) for kb5001716

My computer wont continue its regular updates anymore, I need some assistance please

I FIXED THE PROBLEM - I DON'T KNOW IF IT WORKS UNIVERSALLY.

Fair Warning - You have to wipe ur main drive, the one that has Windows currently installed.

1. Restart the computer and enter into ur BIOS settings before Windows starts, find your BIOS option to wipe / Clean a drive from scratch. Like a factory reset. If you can move the important stuff to an external or alternate drive.
2. Once you've wiped the drive, make sure beforehand you have a flash drive or an activation disc for Windows 10, that you can install it on the freshly wiped drive.
3. In the BIOS set it so that the flash drive or disk will boot on startup, save BIOS settings, and exit. Windows will reinstall, use the key. If you don't have the key do a custom install and fill in the appropriate options.

Thats it, thats what worked for me. It's a sacrifice to wipe everything but I can download updates, my drivers actually work etc etc.

Julia's Tech Spot on YT has a video on how to fix the (0x80070643) problem. Pretty simple to follow along to resize your partitions. This method did fix the error.

I have the same issues, and this is on a newly installed installation of Windows 10. I also used the troubleshooter, which found no issues present.

I feel like Microsoft should just go in and remove this update file completely. Release an update that clears the failed ones that have already been patched through.

Honestly, they probably don't care and want us all to upgrade to Windows 11. (I'm thinking about it but probably in the future I will.)
