Hello,
Since yesterday my Windows 11 Start Button is no longer working.
It animates when I click it, but nothing else happens, also, my taskbar keeps switching on and off.
I don't know whether that is relevant or has anything to do with the problem, but two days ago I had Windows updates two days on the trot.
I have tried a number of recommended solutions, like commands in Pwoer shell, sfc /scannow, the DISM commands, updating my graphics drivcer, registry hacks, tried to re-install Windows but gave up when I saw I couldn't keep my files.
In short, none of the above have worked.
The thing is, some things I cannot do, like check my updates etc., as some Windows key commands don't work, eg. Windows + I.
Has anyone got any further advice for me, please?

Hi Kluawaart - my pc is suddenly having this same issue, but like others here, the start button doesn't work, nor if I right-click on it does the settings screen actually come up. In other words, I am not able to access the recommended way to fix the issue via the suggestions. I scanned through the entire thread, but there doesn't seem to be any fix posted. Any suggestions?
Lucky you, it did not fix mine. I have yet to understand how Microsoft can keep getting this problem and not have a cure, apart from having to reinstall the software and lose programs etc. Although they state all files will be safe, I have lost stuff in the past. If their software can cause the problem, they should have a fix for their software. Not as if it is a one off.

I suddenly find I have the same problem. I have not really used the windows box for a couple of months, but yesterday>nothing! No search function, although the 'search' box is showing. The Windows icon will only work with a right click. No left click function. I have tried the left/centre position for the taskbar, but nothing happens.
Any further ideas? I have tried every fix available on the internet.
You would think that Microsoft could sort this problem out that occurs on virtually every build.
Your app doesn't work, and your suggestion doesn't work either - for me at least. Windows 11 Start Menu/Button not working. I can left-click the Start button to get that menu with Settings etc. Right click does nothing. Been like this since a likely hard shutdown.
I run your app as admin and I tell it the current position, it moves it to the left and then back to center, does your "registry fix" and says it was successful, but I still cannot open Start Menu.
