Hello,
Since yesterday my Windows 11 Start Button is no longer working.
It animates when I click it, but nothing else happens, also, my taskbar keeps switching on and off.
I don't know whether that is relevant or has anything to do with the problem, but two days ago I had Windows updates two days on the trot.
I have tried a number of recommended solutions, like commands in Pwoer shell, sfc /scannow, the DISM commands, updating my graphics drivcer, registry hacks, tried to re-install Windows but gave up when I saw I couldn't keep my files.
In short, none of the above have worked.
The thing is, some things I cannot do, like check my updates etc., as some Windows key commands don't work, eg. Windows + I.
Has anyone got any further advice for me, please?

I had to eventually do a reset and everything is back. Unfortunately I have lost some software. Windows is more trouble than it is worth.
If the same problem occurs on other peoples computers, windows has an inbuilt glitch and they should be sorting it, rather than investing in upgrades that nobody hardly use.
Can you imagine if the thing that suddenly stopped working was keeping people alive, or helping to fly a plane.
I haven't got a specific fix to the issue (working on fixing it myself) but you can open the settings by right clicking on the desktop and clicking on Display Settings or Personalization to bypass the lack of a start menu.
I found a better way but can’t remember where I found the answer that being said search for windows 11 update in place. It requires you to download the .iso file double click it win 11 will automatically mount it. Click setup it resets windows 11 without losing any of your currently loaded apps. Be careful the one that worked said nothing about keep files if you get that option you got the wrong iso. The one I used simply rest installed windows without changing anything but windows. If I find the I found this video not sure if it’s the one I used so do this at your risk.

This way if it messes up you can just restore without the hassle good luck you can do this.

Yesterday I just changed the ownership of my C Drive. Despite having only one user i was having 2options so i selected the second one to change the ownership, but some of the folders' access permissions not changed eg: Root Directory(sort of like these), and now when i opened my laptop today then i cant access my start menu, I cant open any shortcuts on my desktop by double clicking them, also edge is not working, when i runned troubleshoot then there was written that search service not working and root directory has permissions problems. Plz tell me how can i do everything like it was before ! Thanks and Namaste from India.
I searched some other sites for answers and found a solution which worked for me. Fix #3 from the following site worked. One item to note: in order to access the cmd prompt, I had to right click on the windows button, then click run, enter "cmd" and hit enter. It took about 30 seconds for the cmd prompt to appear.
