Camera app shows error "0xA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached"

I appreciate the information as I am experiencing the same issue.

Where did you find the drivers that worked? I need to make sure I install them also.

Hi every one.

I don't know how, nor why, but my camera started to work today.

I resume my situation:
I have a Lenovo Ideapad notebook with Windows 10 Home edition, and more or less a year ago my camera stopped working.

A month ago I started again to try different solutions without any success. Most of the time the error message was "0xA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached", and only sometimes the camera was detected but no app could use it, showing instead a black screen with flahing letters saying "Frontal Camera"...

Trials consisted in following every single pass recomended by Microsoft blogs and Lenovo experts, without any good result. Other trials consisted in installing different camera drivers I found in Lenovo Vantage utility and in Microsoft Driver Catalog.

In all cases before, using Device Manager my Camara was detected as a "SunplusIT", and I've tried installing many (more than 10) camera drivers, new and old ones, and nothing good happened.

Today (August 22, 2024), I was preparing my self to hold a Google Meet meeting using my external web camara wich was not connect yet, and I found my self setting filters and brightness of my Integrated Camera. It was awesome and some-how it was working.

I immediately checked which was the current installed driver and found that it is a Microsoft Diver version 10.0.19041.4355, dated 6/21/2006, and the strangest thing is that my camera is not detected any more as "SunplusIT" but as simple as "Microsoft" camera.

I don't understand what happened, and if this situation is going to last for ever.... today it is working. I wish it will work tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and so on... Who knows?

Do a system restore point so if a driver gets updated again, you have a working point to get back to.

I was going to follow your suggestion but, again, my camera stopped working today. @#$X@s

I tried with the Camera app and with Google Meet, and nothing (actually now the camera is found, but it doesn't work).

I've investigated the driver date and ID I mentioned before and found that it is a generic driver of Microsoft and it is not only used for camera drivers. This driver ID is used for many other devices: See this: well...https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20170208-00/?p=95395

So, I'm again in the very beggining. It seems like a joke...
