How do I stop "Show news and interests on the taskbar" from turning on?

Whenever I turn off the "Show news and interests on the taskbar" setting, it eventually turns itself back on. While it is off, it works properly, disappearing from my taskbar. But then around 10 minutes later, it reappears on my taskbar with the setting being turned back on.

    Okay, I figured it out. Completely without Microsoft's help.

    I want to explain that the setting doesn't turn off "News and Interests" permanently, and it re-appears moments later. This is the issue that everyone is having, and the issue that was so incompetently ignored/pushed away by Microsoft employees.

    It's easily fixable, to where you can ensure that you're PC will never show "News and Interests" EVER AGAIN. Meaning it wont pop-up after you use the setting meant to make it go away.

    For future reference, Microsoft, remember to add proper functionality for settings like this.

    ===HOW TO FIX===

    1. Follow this guide for a step-by-step technical walk-through for using either Group Policy Editor or Registry Editor to permanently disable "News and Interests" on your PC.
    2. If you're using a windows home device, you'll want to use the Registry Editor method.
    3. If you want to use the Group Policy Editor method, you can follow this video to enable Group Policy Editor on your PC if it doesn't work already.

    I am having the same issue and would also very much appreciate help in stopping the news notifications from repeatedly turning back on. Unfortunately, my organization settings won't allow me to make changes in Registry Editor.

    So, you need customers to send you evidences to isolate and fix this bug of yours that shouldn't be in the first place. It looks you are sleeping on the job, while paying customers like me have to bear this since months. I ALSO HAD TO MEND THE REGISTRY, because you failed to do your coding properly.

    Microsoft should upgrade their hiring system.

    I succeeded in shutting of News and Interests by following the recommendations for editing the registry:

    • regedit in the search bar.
    • Edit->Find in the Registry Editor
    • search for 'ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode
    • double-click on the entry.
    • change the 'Value data:' field from '0' to '2'
    • click 'OK'
    • File>Exitt in the Registry Editor

    I have the same problem. I am using Windows 11 and Bing as my home page. I toggled off the news and interests button, but it kept turning itself back on.

    Can you tell me step by step how to change the registry value to fix this? Not to PC smart, need all the help I can get. hope you can help me.
