How do I stop "Show news and interests on the taskbar" from turning on?

Whenever I turn off the "Show news and interests on the taskbar" setting, it eventually turns itself back on. While it is off, it works properly, disappearing from my taskbar. But then around 10 minutes later, it reappears on my taskbar with the setting being turned back on.

    "Next, go to Settings > Personalization > Start. Ensure the 'Use Start full screen' " no such menu point in that stupid Edge!

    Ideally you shouldn't need to change the registry. I am thinking that there may be a bug.

    Please tag me and submit a feedback if you face any issues with News and Interests. It's my team and I may be able to help isolate and fix the issues.

    Also, I hope that you will choose to enable/pin News and Interests on your taskbar in future. We are constantly working to improve and adding features to add value for you.

    I figured out what the issue was. When I changed the setting, it kept changing it back because the registry wasn't being updated to match the changed setting. When I changed the registry value for the setting, it stopped changing back.

    Can you submit a feedback using Feedback APP? Select News and Interests, Select Desktop Environment - News and Interests in the category. Please try to record the problem using the record button in the feedback hub. News and interest team may be able to diagnose this issue and return with suggestion.

    Thank you for trying. Please right-click on a blank area of the Taskbar, select 'News and Interests' from the context menu, and uncheck everything, including 'Open on hover'. Let me know the result. Thank you.
