How do I stop "Show news and interests on the taskbar" from turning on?

Whenever I turn off the "Show news and interests on the taskbar" setting, it eventually turns itself back on. While it is off, it works properly, disappearing from my taskbar. But then around 10 minutes later, it reappears on my taskbar with the setting being turned back on.

    Seems like I tried everything to get rid of news and interests with Bing home page search engine. Until someone tells me how to do this, I am switching to another home page for search.

    Why Bing Microsoft installed this is annoying. Who's idea this was, should be fired. FIX YOUR SCREW UP! Other search engines don't have this. Why Bing? Running Windows 11. Would like feedback on why this is happening.

    Very Disappointed!!!

    I succeeded in shutting of News and Interests by following the recommendations for editing the registry:

    • regedit in the search bar.
    • Edit->Find in the Registry Editor
    • search for 'ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode
    • double-click on the entry.
    • change the 'Value data:' field from '0' to '2'
    • click 'OK'
    • File>Exitt in the Registry Editor

    Hi,

    In my case, this problem was caused by a malfunctioning program:

    CookieBlock https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/cookieblock/mnfolmjlccppcgdeinhidialajfiopcc

    after uninstalling CookieBlock it stopped.

    Thanks for checking. Please try the following for further troubleshooting:

    1. Try restarting Windows Explorer:

    Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    Under the "Processes" tab, scroll down and look for "Windows Explorer."

    Right-click on it and select "Restart."

    1. Run the SFC and DISM tools to repair system-corrupted files that may be causing the issue.

    On your search bar, type CMD, then right-click on the result and run as administrator.

    Copy and paste the commands one at a time below, then press Enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    Restart your PC then check
