When I follow the steps in the Microsoft Store to try to switch out of S mode, all I get is a message:

"Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade"

and a Try Again button.

You skipped a step Jen. After you click on the Library icon, Get Updates does not appear. It only appears after you click on the Downloads icon. You're welcome.

No, honey. It's not a server related issue. Microsoft just has awful products.

None of this has helped. I have a strong connection to the internet but the store will not open. I have followed all these steps and aside from returning this brand-new computer, I am all out of options. This has taken my entire work day.

    Hi,

i am writing because I had my acer aspire go 14 laptop on windows 10 when I first got it on Nov 2024. So I turned off s mode and downloaded the sims 4 and the EA app on the laptop. After a couple months it had told me to update the laptop so I updated the laptop to windows 11 and some other updates. one it had finished I didn't know that it has gone back to s mode auto so I tried to play sims but it didn't work. So I went to the app store and tried to turn s mode off. but it didn't work, it always got stuck on the 'working on it' screen. thank you for reading and is there anyway to help me !!!!!!!

    Thank you for reading.

    Ameena

I totally agree, why did Microsoft invent these hassles just for us to turn it off because Microsoft-only apps suck. They do realize we buy their computers not only for Microsoft apps.
