Windows 11 - Can't switch out of S mode

Thanks for sharing your experience. When I went through this, it was a brand-new computer that my in-laws had purchased off of Amazon. We were thinking about sending the whole thing back over this problem. The last thing I wanted to do was reinstall Windows, that was sorta the whole purpose of buying a new computer, was to not need to do that. There should be no reason to reinstall Windows on a new computer, and if you were going to reinstall, why would you install bloody Windows S mode, which is the very thing that's giving problems (unless that's the only copy you had, I guess that would be a good reason).

But anyway, I'm not even sure that reinstalling Windows is guaranteed to work. It feels like this is just a random thing. It almost feels like there is a problem with the Microsoft servers that process the S mode requests, which causes it to just be flakey.

Bought a Dell Inspiron 15 with Windows 11 today. Have had the same issue -- been trying to resolve for hours. This is the best thread I've found out of many I've read through. I guess I'll hope switching out of S mode magically works for me tomorrow like it eventually did for Kevin Dietz1.

Hi, I brought a brand new cheap asus vivonotebook, and i'm having the same issue. You have to reinstall windows 11, just google this as I can't remember or just find it on your settings, it's very easy to do. You then just have to wait for windows 11 to download / reinstall (takes long depending on your computer mine is a very weak notebook so took a while but not a crazy amount of time). I then went back onto microsoft store and switched out of S mode in 1 minute :)
