I'm having the same exact error message, and another one while playing overwatch 2. I have a new RTX 4060, upgrading from a GTX 1080. While the 1080 was working perfect 2 weeks ago, I'm having not this issue with a Brand new ASUS RTX 4060. Stress test passed without any issues, temps are fine lower than 65c for both CPU and GPU. Already attempted DDU, manually removing all the Nvidia drivers, and same issue. New Nvidia drivers were installed, the most recent ones 560.70, and same issue. So It's hard to say that this is a hardware issue, when everything points to drivers issues, and no problems reported while stressing the GPU. So who fault is this, don't know, but what I know is that this problem needs more attention from both MS and Nvidia, as we are spending lots of $$$ for new videocards, and we are having this problem all the time, with no official resolution.
The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found
Hello,
I have been plagued by countless annoying random game crashes the past months with my pc with all pointing out to this error (from event viewer) when they occur: "The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\00000092
Reset TDR occurred on GPUID:100
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table"
Have tried numerous possible solutions already from forums, but with no luck.. Fortnite and many other games crash after random intervals. Can anyone suggest a solution for this?
My specs are the following:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
Installed RAM G-SKILL F4 3200-C16 32,0 GB DDR4
GPU EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0
Drives Patriot M.2 P300 512GB and Seagate Hybrid HDD 4TB
Motherboard GIGABYTE H510M H V2
Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 22631.3593 (23H2)
Have to note that i recently replaced almost all parts from the pc due to a previous motherboard burnout which killed many components, expect the PSU (which was repaired by the technician) and GPU (which the technician said was saved from the burnout) and the Hybrid HDD (have this HDD since 2016). Apart from this, i restored my windows partition through Macrium Reflect image backup (from the Hybrid HHD saved backup).
Thanks in advance for any possible solutions to this, if any!

2024-07-16T20:33:05+00:00 Figured I'd give my input. Asus z790-f mobo, zotac 4090, i9-14900k. I've swapped ram, I've installed a new cpu. Completely wiped pc and no matter what this error comes and goes with different updates. Everyone keeps claiming it to be a failing card yet it passes all stress tests and benchmarks and only crashes when playing CoD. Changing permissions, rolling back drivers, messing with bios only temp fixes the crashes until windows or CoD forces an update. Then I'm right back to square one with 5-10 Event id 153 popping up in event viewer causing my entire pc to freeze and even bsod at times. I have verified this to be software as I have a 6 year old pc with a 1080ti and i7 experiencing the exact same error except it has not crashed. I'm almost 100% sure it came with one of the big windows update 23H2 type updates since they're the only ones that update automatically with windows. All of my other drivers are only updated when absolutely required. I tried rolling nvidia back to October of last year both game and studio ready drivers, Tried multiple bios flashbacks. Underclocked my system, Set power limits, tried a different monitor. Hopefully someone figures out the magic fix because I will not be buying another gpu just to have this issue happen 6 months later.

2024-07-16T06:26:30+00:00 I can also confirm that the error is by no means reproducible and appears out of the blue. So you have to wait for it. Likewise (I already mentioned this), no dump file is written. The image freezes, NO blue screen and a RESET has to be carried out because no response to inputs is possible.

2024-07-15T18:14:09+00:00 Hello,
I am having a similar problem with my "nvlddmkm" driver. This driver crash only happens in specified games (not every game), it doesn't appear when I do other tasks or watch youtube. There are no visible graphical issues, like artifacts. I own a ASUS FX706HC TUF Laptop with a RTX3050 Mobile GPU and i5-11400H, I had 16 gb RAM before, now I have 32 gb.
This problem started to become an issue for me last year somewhere in March. I tried every possible solution known to the internet, nothing worked or atleast weakend the issue. I tried to reset my laptop to factory settings using WINRE, also replaced my RAM modules with newer ones, still nothing. NVIDIA and ASUS support were also unable at solving my issue.
What I find weird, is that the problem sometimes doesn't recreate itself at all, or sometimes it happens once and then never again. I was able to play affected games for around 1-4 hours with no crash.

2024-07-12T20:28:56+00:00 I've tested my ram in memtest86 and all are good. I tested both a 1080ti and a 4070ti Super in an old system and had zero issues. In this system my cards were directly on the MB.
In the system where I am experiencing all these issues the GPU is connected via riser cable which folks have indicated may be the issue. I have not been able to resolve with clean windows installs, BIOs updates, hardware resetting and double/triple checking, DDU and Driver updates or rollbacks.
Nothing removes the errors completely.
