Hello,

I have been plagued by countless annoying random game crashes the past months with my pc with all pointing out to this error (from event viewer) when they occur: "The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event: 

\Device\00000092

Reset TDR occurred on GPUID:100

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table"

Have tried numerous possible solutions already from forums, but with no luck.. Fortnite and many other games crash after random intervals. Can anyone suggest a solution for this?

My specs are the following:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz

Installed RAM G-SKILL F4 3200-C16 32,0 GB DDR4

GPU EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0

Drives Patriot M.2 P300 512GB and Seagate Hybrid HDD 4TB

Motherboard GIGABYTE H510M H V2

Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 22631.3593 (23H2)

Have to note that i recently replaced almost all parts from the pc due to a previous motherboard burnout which killed many components, expect the PSU (which was repaired by the technician) and GPU (which the technician said was saved from the burnout) and the Hybrid HDD (have this HDD since 2016). Apart from this, i restored my windows partition through Macrium Reflect image backup (from the Hybrid HHD saved backup).

Thanks in advance for any possible solutions to this, if any!

    UPDATE:

    I had barely sent a positive message when I had to revise it. Shortly after my message, Windows froze again.

    This time I had watched a YouTube video.

    OLD:

    I had already reported it.

    I rarely play games. The problem with freezing and error 131 always occurred when I was away from the PC for a while and it was probably idle (for varying lengths of time).

    Since I VERY SIMPLY installed the new NVidia driver 560.70 and selected NEW INSTALLATION, at least my PC no longer freezes.

    However, I still get a lot of error 131.

    ...I use Win10Pro64

    Hello everyone.

    I have been troubled by this problem for a long time. It seems to come and go.
    I have tried almost all the solutions you have listed in this thread but with no result.
    The system crash would always come back at some point. The problem I had is system crash with no time for blue screen or sometimes many freezes before crashing. Always while playing a demanding game. Recently Elden Ring and heavily modded Skyrim.
    Specs: 5800X3D on Asus Strix x570 e gaming, 32GB ram and a Gigabyte 2070super.

    Long story short I am a computer technician and since the nvidia power adapter fiasco I had some intruding thought about my custom cables.
    I switched them with the original provided from the psu, as a hail Marry and voila! I am gaming crash free for the last two days. With no sign of hiccups!

    Please try my solution and let me know of the results. I hope that it will help you.

    NOTE: DO NOT USE A SINGLE CABLE FOR MORE THAN ONE PCI-E SOCKET.

    I seem to have the same (or similar) problem.

    For many weeks my computer (Win10_64pro, current) has been freezing when it has NOTHING to do.

    This often happens when the screens go out while I'm away for 10 minutes, for example.

    What's strange is that although the event log contains a large number of entries with event ID "153" and nvlddmkm at the time of the freeze, the MEMORY.DMP file has not been updated, nor are there any new files under C:\Windows\Minidump.

    I have set the memory dump to full.
