HEAR HEAR!!!! WHY ISN'T MICROSOFT ON THIS??? Thank you for saying so, Will.
Unable to install Windows 11 Update Version 23H2 (KB5036980)
I've been repeatedly trying to install this update, but each time I try to launch the update, it will suddenly stop at 96% and tell me there was something wrong with the install and my PC files would return to the previous "un-updated" state.
I've tried every method I could easily find online (Removing all non-essential hardware, did clean boot into Windows, et cetera.), but none of them fixed the isue and I'm suspecting it's a deeper, less common issue.

2024-12-12T14:32:23+00:00 Good day, as I stated im my foot note:
"a Paying Microsoft customer!!"Why should I (we) go along with all this, it is a Microsoft product! so why dont they write a "sub-program" what we can exucute and fix this problem.
Please, very please: someone at the Microsoft facility give us an answer to solve this problem.....................
Looking forward to hear for you (Microsoft).
Thank you,
Best Regards,
Will

- Download Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295
- Run MCT and download the ISO it recommends for your system. Do *not* uncheck "Use the recommended options for this PC".
- Right-click on the downloaded ISO and choose "Mount." This assigns the ISO a drive letter.
- Run setup.exe from the ISO drive. This starts the in-place upgrade/repair installation.
(Your files, settings and applications will be preserved if you use the ISO recommended for your system by the Media Creation Tool.)
Thanks for the info.
I tried all that, and more. I finally managed to reach the online MS helpdesk. They installed a "custom" Windows file, and it worked.
Two weeks later, my laptop died. Keyboard lights up, but absolutely no sign of life otherwise. I'm now using a donated laptop that's only fit to run Windows 10. It's brand new, out of the box, and a similar thing happened when updating to Windows 10 22H2. It's slow, but at least it works. lolCheers anyway.
