I was honestly about to give up on ever trying to fix it but made a last-ditch effort to figure out how to fix the issue. So, I searched "why won't Windows 11 version 23h2 install?" and I found that video. Favorite the video and the software download link so you can go back to them both. Hopefully it will work for you. Make sure you click on the windows 11 installation assistant and not the second option where it will ask for a usb memory stick.
Unable to install Windows 11 Update Version 23H2 (KB5036980)
I've been repeatedly trying to install this update, but each time I try to launch the update, it will suddenly stop at 96% and tell me there was something wrong with the install and my PC files would return to the previous "un-updated" state.
I've tried every method I could easily find online (Removing all non-essential hardware, did clean boot into Windows, et cetera.), but none of them fixed the isue and I'm suspecting it's a deeper, less common issue.

2025-04-10T17:51:29+00:00 I found the video to help fix the windows 11 23h2 issue. You need to watch the video to follow steps 1-3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ILwvARHVo
After going thru the first three steps in the video to help fix the issue and going then finally going to the windows software download site for the Windows 11 installation Assistant. By doing that it actually worked and helped get the windows 11 23h2 to finally update. Click on the download now for the windows 11 installation assistant.

it not only updated the windows 11 version 23h2 but it also updated the windows 11 version 24h2
