Why we can't move the taskbar in windows11. Can we bring the updates in this version, to move the taskbar position?

True that, for many of us who are used to a particular way of working around, this is really a handicap. MS should reconsider and give us the flexibility to move the task bar around to ones liking. Every upgrade in the software should be backward compatible, if Win10 has it, there is no reason why Win11 should not have it.

Yes please. Give us the option to move our taskbar to any direction we want (top, bottom, left side, or right side). Many thanks!

i second the need to send strong worded feedback and dissatisfaction regarding their decision to limit taskbar position flexibility.

this is going to be a huge hindrance to my day to day work, and being on a corporate device, i am not certain if we will be allowed to utilize 3rd party solutions.

I also would like to send feedback in favor of moving the taskbar to the top. I am accustomed to having it at the top ever since Windows 3.1 was released!! Please let us choose where we would like to place the taskbar.

I dual-boot Win 11 and Archlinux. This is far more difficult than it used to be before Windows 11, no thanks to them. But I digress from my point, which is that there is no good reason for eliminating the option of placing the taskbar wherever I want, and many reasons to retain that feature. Can I do that in Linux? Absolutely!

I remember hating the Macintosh computers we were forced to use in my early days of teaching, because they treated us like imbeciles with very little configuration available to the average user. At that time, I very much wanted the school to switch to Windows. They eventually did, and things got much better. A few years later, my son got me started with Ubuntu, and I was so much happier with the experience even though back then, Linux was still fairly clunky. Since then, Linux has gotten really good, Apple has gotten much better than they were, and Windows has gotten much more like Macintosh. The taskbar is but one example of moving away from user-friendly toward corporate overlord.

Why am I not buttering up Microsoft to persuade them to do the right thing? Because all evidence points to the high likelihood that they will continue their negative trend and not listen to the user whether we are nice to them or not. Also, because as Linux continues to improve, it will soon be easy to leave Windows behind, entirely. I now go months between logging into Windows, and only because I haven't bothered to configure my Linux to handle the odd program that I use that is only available for Windows. And every time I do use Windows, it's a bittersweet experience. The bitter is using Windows. The sweet is being reminded how much better my Archlinux is than what I'd be using, otherwise.
