Why we can't move the taskbar in windows11. Can we bring the updates in this version, to move the taskbar position?

The taskbar cannot be moved to top of screens in Windows 11, because of obstinate refusal by members of Microsoft to allow it. It is possible that this is a secret initiative to confus confucious and his ilk as they enter text right to left and bottom to top. That of course would be a matter of ultimate security authored by ultimate security in a 'Jack in the Box' protocol edict.

Microsoft insists that it listens to its users and I don't doubt this. However, they are listening to the wrong users. That is those obsessed with how things look rather than what they do; and those who adore tickling fluffy bunnies because they can from time to time sound incredibly cute. Meanwhile, 350 million Widows 10 users are simply and easily getting stuff done and earning their livings and managing their lives with their OS of choice which does as they wish.

Therefore, Windows 11 usability is nothing to do with Windows 11 users, is it. There is a genius somewhere so confused about the imperitive to get 11, onto 10 and have 10 users upgrade hardware to do it - that they missed the obvious which 10 users have been screaming for more than 5 years. Put the taskbar back at the top. Now, here, I actually insist that TAB (Taskbar at bottom) be removed from the OS and replaced with TAT (Taskbar at Top). This should be rigorously enforced.

An effort to assuage those in the clouds ultimately responsible for the pending disaster as Windows based use dissolves into a nightmare , is outlined here Start Menu Makeover but the taskbar cannot move to the highground, and the rest of it is fluff for bunnies and costing a pretty millions of dollars so that the truth can be further hidden behind a collage of useless activity. A smokescree of obsession with how the thing looks and NOT what it does. No TAT, no Windows 11 is a truth for hundreds of millions of otherwise users of Windows 11. The message is never going to reach the clouds because designers responsible for day to operations of !!, are lying to their boss. The question is why? Any usability study of Windows GUI would have painfully discovered the schism of taskbar at top. It was therefore suppressed to make the upgraded GUI unusable for hundreds of millions who would otherwise upgrade.

EVERYONE - really Easy way to solve this, using an add-on Application similar to Classic Shell. If you dont know what classic shell is, it doesnt matter, this other App works on windows 11 with or without Classic Shell installed.

Oh...and its developer-based and FREE!!! I'd recommend getting it before its not free. Or before MS finds a way to make it not work (They wouldd Never do that woulod they?)

WindHawk allows you to install itself and then you install the "Taskbar On Top For Windows 11" Mod. Installed without a hitch on 2 of my windows 11 laptops and 1 PC station and I see no issues with it...other than, of course, MS tries to scare you while installing it because its Non MS...we all know, MS doesnt like anything non MS, but once again, GOOD developers fix the things MS seems to constantly ruin or mess up.

I cant post links but to find it - do a search for WINDHAWK, I installed Windows 11 Start Menu Styler, then once installed, within WindHawk, you search for MODS, and find the "Taskbar On Top For Windows 11" Mod and install. Wait a few seconds, and the task bar moves to the top. Now, to be fair, you still cant just move the task bar around, its locked to the top...but WindHawk already has us covered - there are other Mods, such as "Task Bar on Side for Windows 11".

Hopefully this helps everyone, I havnt even gotten around to the other mods or settings, I just wanted that dang task bar on top where its been for 30 years!! :-)

I am so worried this also going to happen to me with my productivity. Please fix this feature!! I have worked with my taskbar at the top of my screen for over a decade and loved it that way.

Please change this feature and let us move the taskbar to the left or right! I've had my taskbar on the right-hand side for years, and now I am losing productivity trying to retrain my brain to look at the bottom of the screen.

+1 to let us move the task bar. I've gotten used to putting it on the side of the screen since it takes up less real estate when you have swarms of applications open. I'm tired of all this control
