How do I add Paint 3D to the open with menu choices in Windows Explorer for Windows 10?

If I right click on a .JPG or .PNG file, Paint 3D does not appear, even if I select Chooese Another App, More Apps and then scroll down. However, Paint 3D does appear in the Start Menu listing of all programs.

It looks like they removed the Paint3D "Open with" entries in the recent release. Adding the entry manually via the registry doesn't seem to work.

Please submit feedback to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub (Win + F).

Also, I suggest upvoting these threads at the Feedback Hub, if possible.

By the way, the earlier version (2310.24037.0) doesn't have this problem. You can download it from the Microsoft servers via the Microsoft Store - Generation Project: https://store.rg-adguard.net/

On the above portal, paste the following URL and generate the Appx download links for Paint 3D.

(After installing the older version, turn off the auto-updation of Store apps. Otherwise, the app will be updated to the latest version.)

One can always open Paint 3D and then open the file with the program/app and edit.

Lame. Just fix it. Not rocket science.

Eu também fiquei muito frustrado! Inicialmente só esperava uma atualização para resolver o problema!

Mas como também uso normalmente o Paint 3D acabei procurando solução!

Agora já não sinto necessidade de "abrir com"

Acabei tirando partido de soluções muito simples e funcionais no aplicativo e até já prefiro "Procurar Ficheiros" e "Inserir"!

Deixo abaixo imagens e exposição em detalhe da minha experiência (agora uso Windows 11 mas é similar ao Windows 10):
1. Na barra tarefas, junto ao icon iniciar, pesquisar "Paint 3D"
2. Se já estiver instalado no PC (instalei a partir da Microsoft Store), aparece o aplicativo Paint 3D e aí usar Botão Direito do Rato (Mouse)
3. Afixar atalho na Barra de Tarefas e no Menu Iniciar para depois usar o que for mais prático
4. Normalmente uso o atalho da Barra de Tarefas, mas por vezes também no menu Iniciar
5. O Paint 3D abre com página em branco, mas não tem qualquer problema, clicar no botão "Menu"
6. Para abrir um Ficheiro, clicar em "Procurar Ficheiros" (normalmente uso sempre a mesma Pasta para onde movo anteriormente os ficheiros que pretendo abrir no Paint 3D e assim não preciso procurar nas várias Pastas)
7. Depois de abrir o primeiro Ficheiro, no caso de pretender adicionar mais ficheiros, já prefiro clicar em "Inserir" pois assim não preciso fechar o primeiro Ficheiro. PS: Eu não uso porque acho mais complicado, mas também permite usar apenas "Procurar Ficheiros" iniciando Paint 3D+Procurar Ficheiro+Minimizar e repetir os mesmos passos mantendo várias Janelas Abertas para depois Copiar e Colar entre elas

Espero com isto dar um bom contributo para os afeiçoados Paint 3D, sem complicações de instalação versões antigas, problemas com atualizações que colocam tudo novamente em causa, principalmente para quem não domina bem esse tipo de tarefas

Hi,

Ok it is not rocker science but when you have to do it 100 times per day, you would not react like this
