How do I add Paint 3D to the open with menu choices in Windows Explorer for Windows 10?

If I right click on a .JPG or .PNG file, Paint 3D does not appear, even if I select Chooese Another App, More Apps and then scroll down. However, Paint 3D does appear in the Start Menu listing of all programs.

It looks like they removed the Paint3D "Open with" entries in the recent release. Adding the entry manually via the registry doesn't seem to work.

Please submit feedback to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub (Win + F).

Also, I suggest upvoting these threads at the Feedback Hub, if possible.

By the way, the earlier version (2310.24037.0) doesn't have this problem. You can download it from the Microsoft servers via the Microsoft Store - Generation Project: https://store.rg-adguard.net/

On the above portal, paste the following URL and generate the Appx download links for Paint 3D.

(After installing the older version, turn off the auto-updation of Store apps. Otherwise, the app will be updated to the latest version.)

One can always open Paint 3D and then open the file with the program/app and edit.

Lame. Just fix it. Not rocket science.

    Ik volgde uw werkwijze nauwgezet op en dat bleek niet te lukken. Heb zelfs de link Microsoft.MSPaint_2023.2310.24037.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe.appxbundle ook gekopieerd en rechtstreeks in de chrome browser (steeds voorzien van de recentste updates) tevergeefs ingevoerd.

    Schakelde zelfs tijdelijk mijn internet beveiliging uit en ging zelfs zo ver dat ik ook de chrome geoptimaliseerde safe browsing volledig uitschakelde. Niets mocht helpen!

    Tot ik - alles in eerdere beveiligde instellingen resette - maar EERST de hogere paint 3D wiste: daarna kon ik de vorige versie downloaden. Paint 3D wordt nu terug getoond in de lijst ! Dus OPGELOST, bedankt TOM PEET1 see Replied on June 8, 2024

    Schakelde nu ook de automatische app updates van microsoft uit. Maar beland ik nu niet van de regen in de drop en, krijg ik nu, door updates te weigeren niet meer schade dan voordeel ?
