2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039211)

This update will not successfully apply, goes through the usual dialogs only to fail on restart and undo the changes.

I've tried SFC and DISM with no results.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Let's see if we can get more detailed logs.

    1. Choose Start and type "powershell". Open Powershell as an admin.
    2. Enter:

    Get-WindowsUpdateLogs

It is possible that analyzing these logs will give us a clue as to what is going on. Attach the logs to the case or upload them to cloud storage and send me the link and I will see if the logs will give me a better idea of what is interfering with this update.

    Regards,

    David N.

I don't have any restore points, something is turning it off and deleting my restore points. I'm sure it has something to do with the updates as I've been trying to troubleshoot for some time now.

    Thank you.

From the sounds of it, the KB installed but didn't properly update Windows Update with this information. Now the fact that it is installed is blocking a new installation.

I think we should restore the system to its state before this update was installed. This will leave your data alone but will undu any software installs or Windows settings changes you have done since the last update.

To do a system restore from within Windows:

    1. Choose Start and type "Recovery". Open Recovery from the list.
    2. Click on the System Restore button.
    3. Choose Open system restore and click next.
    4. Choose the recommended option unless it is from after the problem started. Click Next and go to step 8.
    5. If the recommendation is from after, choose "Choose a different restore point" and click Next.
    6. Choose from the available list. If none seem appropriate, click on Show more restore points and choose from the list.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Verify the information and choose Finish.
    9. This may take some time. If it asks for any confirmation tell it to continue and wait for it to complete.
    10. The system will reboot and return you to your desktop when completed.

Test to see if your issue is resolved.

    Regards.

    David N.

Thank you for the help thus far David.

It still tries to install KB5039211 after I tried manually which failed. (0x800f0922)

After looking at my update logs it looks like it successfully updated to the mentioned update on 6/12??

    How to proceed?

    Thank you in advance.
