I am unfortunately left extremely frustrated and questions un answered because the website is not understanding what I am asking, my account is locked, in order to get assistance with a human you need your password, well when your account is locked, your password doesn’t work. So I have no way of receiving help because you have to go through ai to get it. What should I do?
About your locked account, first this:
I sympathize with your situation, and would like to explain why you are better off in this user community.
1- Microsoft employees do not support individual consumers. Even if you do eventually get through to a live human, that human will not be a Microsoft employee.
2- The person with whom you will be speaking - if you succeed - will be a contractor hired by Microsoft. More specifically, that person will be employed by a third-party contractor that Microsoft has hired to answer questions.
This is due to the fact that there are more than 1.5 billion users of Windows. Microsoft employees cannot possibly service that large a customer base. And Windows is only one of Microsoft's many products.
3- Since they're not working for Microsoft, they have no access to your account or the ability to change it. The best they can do for you is to provide generic instruction on how to proceed. Moreover, since these contractor organizations are located all over the world, there's no guarantee that they will be able to understand what you're saying, or that you will be able to understand what they are saying. That isn't a criticism - it's just the way it is.
Many people think that if they could only talk to a human being, their problem would get solved. That's simply not true. I've already mentioned the communication barrier that might occur. In addition, you can't show someone over the phone what you're seeing on your screen. You can do that here.
Unfortunately, there are contractors in Microsoft Community as well. Basically, anyone with some kind of title is a contractor, so they may have the same language barrier and inability to access your account as someone whom you speak with. What you really need is help with asking your question, to maximize your chances of getting a good answer. So let's deal with that.
For a locked account, you need to tell us:
- exactly which type of account you're talking about;
- what exactly "locked" means; and
- the exact text of any error messages you are seeing. You can submit a screen shot, which is always helpful.
With those three pieces of information clearly described, someone can tell you (1) if it's possible to unlock your account; (2) how to unlock your account, if that's possible; and (3) what to do if it's not possible.
If you trying for an answer here, start a new post. Or post in another Windows forum. Or ask Copilot. Or go to a local repair shop, if you have one near you.
